#ThisWeek

• Monday Week 2: Reminder to parents that Monday 6th July is a Monday Week 2 and therefore school will finish at 2.15pm whilst our staff undertake training and development. School buses will depart at 2.25pm.

• Attendance: Reporting a student absence – please call the attendance line (and leave a voicemail) or use the MyEd app to send a text message. Please report students absent daily before 8.30am.

Medical appointments - With the updated guidance around ‘lates’ and ‘late arrivals’ after the registers closes, we would like to offer some advice around appointments during the school day.
- Where possible please schedule appointments outside of school hours,
- If arranging a morning appointment, it is suggested that your child attends school to gain their registration mark at 8.40am (and then signs out straight after this),
- If arranging an afternoon appointment, it is suggested that your child signs out after 12.45pm so they have gained their afternoon registration mark.

• Year 9 Options: Letters confirming student option choices for GCSE courses starting September 2026 will be given to students during week commencing 6th July. Please contact Mr Lamble with any issues or concerns.

• PP Summer Enrichment Trip: On Wednesday 6th July P1-4, Year 7 PP students will be attending a Bowling & Laser Trip to Tenpin Warrington (25 students who have excellent behaviour and attendance scores). Students are to come into school in their own clothes.

• Sports Day: School Sports Day is being held on Tuesday 7th July. A parental letter regarding this has been emailed home, and details the organisational arrangements for the day:

- All participating students should attend school in their FULL SCHOOL PE KIT.
- Ill / injured students should NOT wear PE kit, and must wear normal school uniform.
- T-shirts & shorts must have the school logo. If leggings are worn, they must be plain black, with no mesh inserts or scrunch detailing.
- The weather forecast is for good conditions, so suncream and additional drinks will be needed.
- All timings of the school day remain the same, and students must have the necessary equipment for all lessons.

• Warrington Schools Athletics Championships: This event is being held on Thursday 9th July:

- This is a full day event, hosted at Victoria Park.
- Selected athletes will be informed by their PE teachers, and will be provided with a selection letter with details of the timings for the day.

• Donations of Pre-Loved Uniform: If your child has outgrown any CHS branded uniform item/PE Kit or is leaving school this term, we will be pleased to receive donations from you. These must be current items only with the CHS school logo and must be clean, in good condition and preferably with any student name tags removed. We cannot accept any used, generic uniform clothing items (i.e. non-CHS branded) or any items which are damaged. Generic uniform clothing which is brand new with labels attached and/or still in packaging will however be gratefully received. Please label bags “Uniform Donations” and bring to our reception staff to check they comply with the above restrictions.

• School Uniform Shopping: Our uniform provider SWI is currently working hard to ensure that our parents can obtain everything they need for the start of new academic year 2026-27. If you have not already done so, please visit the SWI website, following the link from our school website uniform page, and register an account with them so that you can complete your shopping in good time for September. You will also get notifications of special offers, stock news and reminders from them. Shopping early helps to avoid any disappointment as they do get very busy towards the end of August.
