• Monday Week 2: Monday 7th September is a Monday Week 2 and therefore school will finish at 2.15pm whilst our staff undertake training and development. School buses will depart at 2.25pm.

• Uniform Standards: Thank you for your support in ensuring your child is prepared for the academic year ahead. Overall, students have looked extremely smart on their return. • Equipment: All students should ensure they attend school with the following items and regular equipment checks will be completed.

- Highlighters (desirable)
- Protractor, pair of compasses (desirable)

• QMAs: Dates and details of all assessments this year can be found in the QMA Handbooks. There is one booklet per year group and can be a very good way to see how to support your child in their learning at progress. The new handbooks will be available early next week. For parents of Year 11 students especially, please note assessments start from Week 3, so students will be receiving guidance and support in lessons in the next few days to help them prepare.

• Year 11 GCSE Parents’ Information Evening: Advanced notice that this event will take place on Thursday 17th September. Entry and registration is from 4.15pm and will be an opportunity to get essential GCSE subject guidance, revision support and meet many of the Post-16 providers. It is an invaluable opportunity for all Year 11 parents to know how best to support your young people in their final year of high school.

• Year 11 PPE Reports: Please note, following the PPE week at the end of Year 10, all Year 11 students will receive a full report of their PPE grades. These will be distributed to students next week. This is an ideal opportunity for families to start reviewing current GCSE and Vocational qualification performance so far and planning next steps for a successful Year 11. The GCSE information evening, the following week is an ideal opportunity to get further guidance and support on what to do next.

• School Photographs: Tempest Photography will be in school on Tuesday 8th and Wednesday 9th September. Years 7 and 11 will have their individual, form and whole year group photographs taken on Tuesday. Years 8, 9 and 10 will have their individual and form photographs taken on Wednesday.

• PE Notices:

Tuesday 8th September
- Year 9 football team trials, 3.15-4.00pm. 3G suitable footwear and PE kits must be worn. This is for the main school football team, so both boys and girls can attend. Players who don’t attend this trial will not be considered for selection for fixtures, so if there is a genuine reason preventing attendance, please ensure that staff are informed.
- Girls football on the Astroturf. All year groups welcome – 3.15-4.15pm.

Wednesday 9th September
- Mixed Trampolining. Years 8-11 welcome from 3.15-4.15pm.
- Year 8 football fixtures at Cardinal Newman vs Cardinal Newman and St Gregory’s. Return to school at approximately 5.30pm.
- Year 10 football fixture at Culcheth High School vs Sir Thomas Boteler. Finish Approx 5pm.

Thursday 10th September
- Year 7 football team trials, 3.15-4.30pm. 3G suitable footwear and PE kits must be worn. This is for the main school football team, so both boys and girls can attend.
