#ThisWeek

• Attendance: Reporting a student absence – please call the attendance line (and leave a voicemail) or use the MyEd app to send a text message. Please report students absent daily before 8.30am.

Lates - Registers must close no longer than 30 minutes after opening. If a student is absent for registration but arrives later in the session after the register has closed, the attendance register must be amended to record them as absent using code U or another absence code that is more appropriate. *Please note CHS AM registers open at 8.40am and close at 9am*.

• Year 9 Parents’ Evening: A-side Thursday 19th March and B-side Thursday 26th March. Login codes have been sent from Carol Maudsley; if you have not received yours, please check your junk/spam boxes. If you are experiencing any problems, please contact Mrs Maudsley.

• Year 10 students: A reminder that the application process for Head Students for 2026-2027 has now opened. Details of how Year 10 students can apply for the role can be found on the Year 10 Pastoral Google page. Please can you encourage your child to apply for the role.

• Year 11 Exams - Advanced Warning: It is now just less than six school weeks until the GCSE exams commence. A revision programme should now be well underway. Please see the attached GCSE revision checklists and the GCSE Exam/Revision planner that students can use to plan ahead.

• Year 11 Revision: This is running again after school this week. Please refer to the After-School Revision Timetable on the Year 11 Notices Page to see what session is on after school each evening. Please speak to your child and ensure that they are attending the relevant sessions for the subjects that they’ve chosen to take at GCSE. Thank you in advance for your support in ensuring that students are attending these sessions with the GCSEs fast approaching.

• Year 11 Parents – Exam Results App: A new service, launched by the DfE, allows students to be able to access their education record via their mobile phone. This service will not replace Exam Results Day, but will allow students to receive their results on the app at a set time after they have received their paper copy in school. More information about the significance of this, how it will operate, and how to download the app is detailed in a letter sent to Year 11 parents via email last week. If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact Mr Lamble at school.

• Year 11s - ParentPay: As the weeks are flying by for Year 11s it would be a good time to think about their dinner money balances. If they have a large balance to date, try not to put money on so that when they leave there is minimal balance. If, when they leave, you have a balance still on the ParentPay account you will need to request a refund before the students are taken off roll at the end of the academic year. If you do not request the balance, you are at risk of losing it.

• Year 11s - Lockers: As we approach the Year 11 exam period, we would like to remind you of the importance of students having their locker keys for each exam. Students will be required to store their belongings in their lockers during each exam. Please ensure your child has their locker key with them for every exam session. If your child has lost their locker key, please purchase a replacement as soon as possible via ParentPay. Following their final exam, Year 11 students will be required to empty their lockers and return their keys. Further details regarding the locker clearance process will be provided closer to the time.
