Over the final weekend of last term GCSE PE students from Years 9 and 10 went on a residential trip to the Waterpark Outdoor Adventure Centre, on Coniston Water in the Lake District. Thirty students joined the PE Staff for a weekend of sailing, canoeing, kayaking, Ghyll scrambling, teamwork challenges and manhunt!!
Everyone loved (or at least got a huge buzz from!) the Ghyll scrambling, which involved climbing, crawling, swimming and jumping up and down rivers and waterfalls. The canoeing and kayaking was also a big hit, although the complete absence of any real wind meant that none of our sailors are quite yet ready for the America’s Cup! Great food and fabulous accommodation topped of a brilliant weekend.
The next trip, for current Year 9 students, is already booked for July 2019, so if you want a taste of what the trip is like, please make sure you check out the Waterpark website www.waterparkadventure.co.uk
