Ruth Agnew is a former local authority governor services manager and now works independently as a governor trainer and consultant. She joined the governing body as an associate member in May 2016, and was appointed as a co-opted governor on 26 April 2017. Ruth was designated a national leader of governance (NLG) in 2012 and has experience as a governor and chair of governors in 3 primary, 3 secondary schools and 1 special school over the last thirteen years. She is currently chair of governors at Beamont Primary School, and a governor at Fox Wood Special School in Warrington. She has two children, one currently at Birchwood College and one at Birmingham University. When she’s not working, parenting or governing she enjoys singing with Warrington Rock Choir.
