All of Year 10 attended the recent Skill City exhibition at Event City in Manchester as part of their ongoing Careers education. The purpose was to show Year 10 students the wide variety of options available to them post-16.
There were exhibitors there from around the county, encompassing a wide variety of career routes. These included: local colleges and universities; public services including the army and emergency services and many local and national employers. Even Manchester United were there to talk about the work that they do in the community.
Students were able to talk to a wide range of providers about their options and were able to find out about different career routes and the qualifications needed for them. They found the day educational and interesting. Some said that it gave them a new perspective on their plans for the future.
Careers advice and information continues to be available to Year 10 students through Mrs Morris, the School Careers Officer. There will be a strong focus on careers and planning for the future during the upcoming Activities Week in June. Watch this space to find out what they get up to!
