PHONE FREE SCHOOL

Culcheth High School: A Phone-Free Space From September 2025

Starting in September 2025, Culcheth High School is implementing a phone-free policy to enhance teaching and learning. We will be using the Yondr system, a proven method adopted by thousands of schools in 35 countries to foster an engaged learning environment.

Every student will secure their phone in a personally assigned Yondr pouch when they arrive at school. Students will maintain possession of their phones but won't be able to use them until their pouches are opened at the end of the school day.

This initiative aims to create a learning space where students can truly thrive, free from the distractions of mobile phones and and social media. Schools that have implemented Yondr report significant improvements in student wellbeing, academic performance, classroom engagement, and social connection.

We believe this change will greatly benefit our students and contribute to a more focused and enriching educational experience.
