Both Simran and Samay Prakash have had a very successful month in the world of music. They are both members of the Wigan
Youth Brass Band who played in the ‘Music for Youth’ competition in Rochdale and successfully went through to the next round in Birmingham. If all goes well in the next round, the pair will be  making the trip to the Albert Hall in London.

Simran plays Soprano Cornet in the ensemble and Samay plays percussion. It was also fantastic to see the pair both
performing solos in the Accent Music Hub Concert along with the school orchestra. Simran played an excellent rendition of the first movement of the Hummel Trumpet Concerto and Samay played a perfect performance of Scott Joplin’s Maple Leaf Rag on
xylophone. Well done!
