Following the success of our Future in Mind initiative, our Youth Health Champions were invited to attend the Children and Young Persons Mental Health Awards ceremony, held at the prestigious Manchester Town Hall on Saturday 6th January 2018. Nominated for the Learning and Education award, the YHCs were celebrated for all the fantastic work they have been doing to promote positive mental health and signpost their peers to the wide range of support available via numerous services.
This award recognises a service/project working to build resilience in schools with young people and for outstanding work between education and health/social care and or third sector organisations, who have developed innovative projects to promote positive mental health in learning and educational establishments. The judges were particularly looking for involvement of children and young people in the design, development and delivery of the project.
The evening celebrated achievements in 10 categories in total, some of which were aimed at individuals, some at individuals or groups, and three specifically at organisations providing CYPMH Services, and we were delighted to be highly commended by Positive Practice (the body organising the awards) for all work Future in Mind positive mental health work!
