Two year 9 students have had great success recently with their performing arts outside of school. Madeleine Irwin 9Y and Joe Campbell 9H have been involved in some fantastic performances.

Madeline has been awarded a place onto the Royal Ballet School’s Senior Associate Course in Birmingham starting in September. This is an excellent opportunity for Madeleine to take her dancing to a national and even international level. Madeleine has gained one of about ten places available at the Birmingham venue for Year 10 students. She will be taking part in classes at the weekend and dancing with the best young dancers in the country.  She has just achieved a distinction in her major inter-foundation exam in ballet where she got one of the highest scores in the country. Well done Maddie!

Joe has been with CODYS for over 18 months and has recently been singing in the musical ‘Cats’ at the Brindley Theatre in  Runcorn. Joe played Bustopher Jones and was part of the chorus. It was a very hectic but very enjoyable week. For his part in the role, Joe also got a mention in the Warrington Guardian where he was described as ‘resplendent’. The next show in  September is a 20th anniversary show and is a mix of lots of different musicals. Watch this space…..!
