On Monday 27th June to Friday 1st July, Year 8 students attended their residential visit to Kingswood in Colomendy. The objective of the residential was for pupils to build resilience and teamwork through a variety of activities they may not have access to at home. Students were able to challenge themselves in activities such as climbing, Jacob’s ladder, zip-wiring, problem-solving and Frisbee golf, although I think one of the biggest challenges for the students was getting themselves up at 6.30am for breakfast!

Throughout the course of the week, the students had to contend with some terrible weather conditions and to their credit, each one of them embraced the conditions and got completely involved in all of the activities. It was really pleasing and rewarding to see students of different friendship groups, working together to achieve a common goal in all of the different activities. Overall it was a great week and well done to all of those students who attended – you were a credit to the school.
