During Activities Week, Year 8 students not attending the residential were treated to a fantastic British Values session delivered by the School of Military. The session consisted of a Royal Navy gun run and the theory and history surrounding this historic and traditional activity. The session began with an insight into the history of the gun run, following which the students conducted research surrounding the Royal Naval ports. When completed, this information was then presented to the rest of the class. Following this, the session was taken outside and the students completed a teamwork-based mock gun run, with the ports researched forming the three team names. The students thoroughly enjoyed the activity and we’d like to take this opportunity to thank the School of Military for offering and providing us with such a rewarding experience.
