Year 7 students bravely battled the elements to enjoy a successful week’s camping at Walesby Forest in Nottinghamshire. They spenttwo nights under canvas and enjoyed a range of outdoor activities such as climbing, assault courses, kayaking and team building. The visit gave the students opportunities not only to try new activities, but also to develop independence and resilience. It was great to see students getting stuck in and working together. Students had a fantastic time, comments included:
Abi – loved the low ropes, it was fun and challenging
Jacob – favourite part was the climbing
Josh – best bit was getting a bullseye on the archery
Ocean – best bit was the lake, especially when the boys fell off the Kayak whilst trying to stand.
Some students are still recovering, I know that staff are! Many thanks to the staff for helping to make the visit a great success
