We celebrated World Book Day in the ILC this year with a range of activities, including quizzes, competitions, manga drawing and word searches. Our newest student librarians, Scarlett Moss-Turner and Lily Hewitt, took on the role of ‘Book Doctors’ for the day and enjoyed passing on their knowledge of books by handing out book prescriptions.
As usual, book vouchers were issued to all of our students and we hope that they get along to a local bookshop and make good use of them. The £1 tokens can be swapped for one of the 10 free World Book Day books, or alternatively you can put it towards one of the FIVE fantastic full-length books for teens priced at only £2.50 each at participating stores (that’s ONLY £1.50 with the £1 book token).
The tokens are valid from 26 February to 25 March and can be redeemed at independent bookshops and branches of Waterstones. You can also visit worldbookday.com for lots of information and ideas about books and reading.
