Rugby has continued to grow again this year, with school teams being fielded in both Year 7 and Year 9. Our Year 9s led the way this year, with a very respectable defence of their 9-a-side title, just missing out on a place in the final and finishing in 3rd place in the Warrington Championships. This paved the way for the Year 7s to try to go one better, and they didn’t disappoint, winning their pool in the play-off rounds to qualify for the final at the all new Victoria Park. Unfortunately, they narrowly missed out by just one try in a 12-16 defeat to Cardinal Newman. Never the less, this was a great first campaign for the boys, and hopefully we can build on it and achieve further success next year.
