This half term we will be training twenty Year 9 students to fulfil the role of peer mentors to a small group of younger students. The training will involve education on communication skills, time and workload management, safeguarding and developing effective relationships. Once trained, the peer mentors are matched with Year 7 students who they meet weekly to act as a resource, a helping hand, a sounding board, and a referral service. The job of the peer mentor is to provide support, encouragement, and information to students who may benefit from the experience of someone who has been in their place. For further details on the peer mentoring programme please contact Mr Cushing, Pupil Premium Progress Leader.
