Culcheth High School will be supporting the charity ‘Samaritan’s Purse’ again this year, by donating Christmas shoeboxes filled with gifts for children. These boxes are sent to many different parts of the world to children who find themselves living in very difficult circumstances – victims of war, famine, disease and natural disaster. Many thanks to all of you have donated boxes before; your generosity is much appreciated.
Our area organiser contacts me each year to tell us where are shoe boxes go and to assure me that they reach their destination. Last year we collected 241 shoe boxes (the most we have ever collected) and all of them went to Uganda.
Please try to help with the appeal this year by putting together a shoe box and please pass on the word to as many people as you can to encourage them to get involved. Information leaflets which contain instructions, labels and an envelope have been given to our students; please use these and if you need any more, please do not hesitate to contact Mrs.Porteous. If you would like to learn more about the charity ‘Samaritan’s Purse’ you can go on their website:
www.samaritans-purse.org.uk and follow the link to Operation Christmas Child.
All completed boxes need to be brought to student services or to S213 by Monday 10 November at the latest, to give us time to get them to the children by Christmas. Many thanks in advance for your help.
