At the start of the half term week, 39 students and 4 staff members embarked on a three-day theatre tour of London.

The itinerary was packed with West End shows, dance workshops and tourist attractions. This was an incredible opportunity for the students to experience live theatre at its best, starting with an evening performance of Disney’s ‘The Lion King’, which blew everyone away. The creativity and imagination behind the costumes and staging were very impressive and no one was too shy to sing along to favourites such as ‘Hakuna Matata’ and the opening line from ‘Circle of Life’.

Day two was no less exciting as we began our day at the famous Pineapple Dance Studios in Covent Garden where we met and worked with Alexa, Dance Captain and member of the ensemble cast of Matilda, who taught us the routine to ‘Revolting Children’ from the show. This was an incredible experience and very much enjoyed by everyone in the group, even more so because we had tickets to see Matilda that afternoon, so could see where the routine we learnt features on stage.

A meal and dancing in Planet Hollywood finished the day off nicely as we had an early start to visit the London Dungeons the following day. Despite it being action packed and very tiring, we all had a fantastic time in London and can’t wait until next year!
