Year 11 student Lucca Chadwick – Patel has recently successfully auditioned for the male lead role of Cliff in the hit musical “Cabaret”.  The film of the same name was released in 1972, winning 8 Academy
Awards, and starred Liza Minnelli.

“Cabaret” brings 1931 Berlin to life inside and outside the Kit Kat Club. There, young American writer Cliff Bradshaw falls for London sensation Sally Bowles, while in the street the Nazi Party is beginning to grow into a brutal political force. Lucca will play the part of the Clifford Bradshaw in the Royal Northern College Of Music’s Youth Perform production of the musical in April 2016.

Lucca said, “I’m really excited about this as it’s my second lead outside school. I’ll also get a bit of revision in as we’re studying the Rise of the Nazi’s for History! As I said after “We Will Rock You”, I’m really sad to be leaving this year and will miss Drama and the whole school production environment which Miss Longden created but I’m really glad that I’m able to continue with my passion for musical theatre outside school.
