Eleigh-Mae Wood 8Y, recently competed in the Scottish Acro Invitational competition which saw a massive 176 groups, with over 400 gymnasts competing. Eleigh-Mae competed in the Grade 3 Women’s groups, a category which had 16 groups competing. Eleigh-Mae and her trio won gold with a fantastic score of 26.90, the fourth highest score over the entire weekend!

Eleigh-Mae then competed in the North West Schools Championships in the Under 14’s Girls Category in the Tumbling competition representing Culcheth High School. There were 32 individuals competing in her category with girls aged between 12-14 years of age. The competition involves three rounds with three different “tumbles” performed. As this was only her second tumbling competition, her expectations were not high.  However, we have great pleasure in informing you that Eleigh-Mae won gold, alongside one of her gym partners who represented Cansfield High School. Both girls received a fantastic score of 26.60 which now sees them going through to the British Gymnastics School National finals in May where Eleigh-Mae will be representing Culcheth High School against schools from all over the United Kingdom.

Eleigh-Mae will be performing next at “Gymfusion”, which is a collaboration of clubs performing their varied gymnastics styles at The Lowry in Manchester. Her next competition is on Sunday 12th March at the NDP Prelims with her trio; should they be successful, this will see them through to the NDP finals in May. We would like to wish Eleigh-Mae every success in her future competitions.
