Last term saw the completion of our school football league fixtures, with most teams vying for a place in the end of season play-off final between the top two teams.
Year 7, with rookie 6th Form managers Luke Crompton and Charlie Morris, finished the season with 9 victories and 1 draw. This left the team sitting pretty at first place in the league. The Year 8 team, under the guidance of Mr Owens, went one better than the Year 7 team, and won all 10 of their matches to also finish top of the league. Mr Cushing has guided the Year 9 team to 6 wins 1 draw and 3 defeats, which left them in a very respectable 3rd place, but not quite in the play-off final. Year 10, last year’s Warrington East League Champions, have recovered from a comparatively disastrous start to the season and put in a strong finish to land second place in the league. Rookie manager, Mr Ford, helped the team to find their form, and is now looking forward to the upcoming play-off final. Finally, the Year 11 team, under the stewardship of Mr Welsford has ended a disappointing season in third place, just missing out on a play –off place.
By the time this article is published, the Year 7, 8 and 10 teams will have played their play-off finals, so let’s hope I can report on their success in the next edition!!
