Controlled Assessments

Controlled Assessments now make up a significant part of GCSE exams and in many subjects contribute to a large percentage of an overall GCSE grade. The dates for Controlled Assessments are set by subject departments as and when they complete the relevant units. Students must check with their subject teachers when these are scheduled. Students must read the attached Notice to Candidates for Controlled Assessment which will also be given out as a hard copy to Year 10 and 11 students taking Controlled Assessments this year.

Appeals

Appeals against internal assessment decisions should be made as early as possible to the centre and at least two weeks before the last timetabled examination in the exam series.

A copy of the Examinations Appeals policy can be found in the School Policies section.
