On Sunday 20th March, our Culcheth-2-Soweto team took over The Raj in Culcheth Village for a fun-filled afternoon of delicious food and wonderful entertainment.
The event, which is our second to be hosted at the Raj, was a great success raising just over £2000 towards our fundraising. Our guests (all 160 of them!) were served a four course Indian banquet and serenaded by one of our school bands and by the Culcheth High School Musical theatre group for the duration of the event. As always, the talent at CHS really shone and their support on the day was much appreciated and very much enjoyed by our guests.
The raffles were a huge success too, with prizes including Easter eggs galore, many bottles of wine, an Easter cake, hampers, restaurant vouchers and our star prize of the day was a Porsche driving experience which was auctioned off.
Once again, we were overwhelmed by the support from the local community and the parents and families who supported this event. Without such support, it isn’t possible to host events such as this. Most importantly, our thanks has to go to the C-2-S apprentices and veterans who, once again, have shown real commitment and team spirit which is what this project is all about.
