On 22nd April, Year 11 students who had expressed an interest in gaining an apprenticeship were invited to a workshop run by North Lancs Training Group (NLTG). They were given expert advice on what employers are looking for, how to produce a CV and how to prepare for job interviews. Following the morning session, each student took part in a mock interview and received constructive feedback on their performance.
Natalie from NLTG commented on the superb behaviour of the students and the high level of effort they put in to the day – each producing a CV and cover letter which they can now use in the application process. The students all said how worthwhile the experience had been even though they had been taken out of their “comfort zones” and several Year 11s have already secured apprenticeships for September which is a great achievement.
